I
create whimsical ceramic artwork which has been my passion for
over ten years now. I discovered clay when I studied Graphic Design
at the University of Aachen in Germany.
Having
been raised in a place where we use rich colors to brighten up
rainy days, my work always has a happy feel to it. My work is
strongly influenced by Japanese Pop culture and can be described
as Kawaii; a Japanese term which translates to cute or adorable.
Cuteness has become a nearly universally esteemed aspect of Japanese
culture which has become to fascinate me.
Currently
my studio is located in my Lafayette, California home, where my
work is entirely built by hand which makes every piece very unique.
It's
my goal to make unique pieces that people can use and enjoy -
whimsical art that makes people look and smile.
